Accessibility
Keys, touch and less motion.

We want everyone to be able to play. The games work with a keyboard or touch, follow your reduced-motion setting, and give the page back on Escape or Recall. Fast action games still have limits, listed below. Last updated 2026-10-29.

What works today

Keyboard playThe embedded games move with the arrow keys or W, A, S and D, and fire with Space where the game has firing. DOM Battlefield and Battlefield Blitz have keys for their commands too.
Escape and RecallPress Escape at any time to stop a game and give the page back. Recall returns focus to the Play button you started from.
Spoken statusStarting and ending a game is announced in a polite live region, so screen readers hear it without losing their place.
Reduced motionIf your device asks for less motion, the games drop screen shake and drifting effects, and the hub keeps its hero still.
Touch controlsOn touch screens the games show an on-screen thumbstick and a Fire button. Different fingers can hold each one at the same time.
Light and dark themesThe site follows your system colour scheme. A theme key switches between light and dark and remembers your choice.
Sound you controlEvery game has a sound switch, and it remembers your choice.
Forms stay yoursThe games leave form fields, live regions and dialogs alone, so they keep working while you play.

Known limits

These are fast action games. They ask for quick reactions and steady control of keys, a pointer or touch, and not everyone has that.

While a game runs, the page's text changes on screen. A screen reader reading that text will hear the changes. Press Escape or Recall to restore it.

Some accent colours in the board games' light theme fall short of the recommended contrast for small text. A fix is planned.

We do not claim a formal conformance level yet. We fix barriers as people report them.
