Sherman Bytes 0.5
Build your line on a phone.

Sherman Bytes 0.5 brings the whole game to phones. Drive with a joystick, hold Fire, and tap to build cover, pillboxes and mines. Battles now have sound. Sherman Bytes is the pixel tank game that plays on a live webpage: breach button bases, build cover, hold the page.

What's new for players

Phones get the full defensive line. Cover, Pillbox and Mine sit beside the drive and fire controls as 3D arcade buttons that act on press.

Movement is an analog joystick with eight-way drive. You can drive and hold Fire at the same time. Fire is the round crosshair button from DOM Battlefield.

Battles have synthesized sound cues. The scoreboard shares its controls with the other games: sound, pause or resume, minimize and Recall.

Direct hits still clear letters into faint binary rubble, and Recall still gives the page back.

For developers

The new controls come from the shared DOM VIRUS runtime, snapshot 0.21.0. The gzip budget grew by 2 KB to pay for them and now sits at 28,000 bytes.

Structure counts no longer build temporary snapshot arrays. Setup, configuration and integration examples live in the repository README.
